Why is Monadnock Hospice House needed?

Four of five Americans indicate a desire to die at home, but only half of them actually will. While Medical Hospice services are comprehensive, they are also intermittent in terms of delivery. Final days care requires round-the-clock attention, with significant physical, emotional, social, and financial demands. Monadnock Hospice House is a local response in the Monadnock region to the gap created when a lack of caregivers and resources prevents a peaceful death at home.

How will Monadnock Hospice House solve this challenge?

Monadnock Hospice House will offer a haven of loving care for people enrolled in Medical Hospice who can no longer remain in their own homes during the last weeks or months of life. We will ease the caregiver burden and become a home and family to people in need.

What is the future for Monadnock Hospice House?

We envision a future where people and families have the expectation of dying well - in a comfortable home, with dignity, and supported by expert and compassionate care. Monadnock Hospice House is part of the movement to improve the end-of-life experience for individuals and families in America, and specifically, in the Monadnock region.
